A Note From The Creative Director about Women of Grace

As the 2023 spring season came to a close, I felt a call for a new show in 2024. Despite my initial resistance, I found myself embarking on a challenging creative journey. Seeking inspiration, I consulted with mentors and pastors, and it was my worship pastor who suggested a compelling theme: women in the Bible.

Prayerfully I sought guidance on which women to spotlight. Initially considering five, we grappled with the challenge of doing justice to each story within a 50-minute time frame. In response to our prayers, a clear direction emerged, and the number three resonated in my heart. Thus, our focus narrowed to three remarkable women whose narratives we aimed to revive.

Collaborating with colleagues and mentors, we began the writing process and selected appropriate musical repertoire complimenting each woman’s story. Join us on an enthralling journey through the lives of three New Testament women: The Woman at The Well, The Woman with the Issue of Blood, and Mary of Bethany.

The symbolism of the number three, reflective of the Trinity in the Bible, promises a theme of new life and fresh beginnings. Witness these women’s stories unfold, as they recount their pasts, filled with guilt, shame, brokenness, and grief. Yet, at the feet of Jesus, each woman’s narrative takes a transformative turn. Their stories, echoing with grace, serve as a poignant reminder that the same grace extended to them then is available to us today.
